Jun 17, 2018 — I finally got a chance to check out Whitaker Point, also known as Hawk's Bill Crag, or Hawksbill Crag. It's featured on pretty much every cover of outdoor adventure advertising for Arkansas, so I kind of held off thinking it would be super popular. To offset the crowds, Will and I started early in the morning and had the place to ourselves, but we did encounter quite a few people on our way back. There is a well-marked trail leading pleasantly through the forest, passing a few pretty rock overhang outcrops along the way. The trail then follows the rim of a cliff that ultimately leads to Whitaker Point. It's a pretty spectacular feature, a massive slab of sandstone rock just hovering over thin air.
Please consider helping me out if you find my site useful. I'm not sponsored, so all site fees are out-of-pocket and my time preparing these trip reports is unpaid. You can also hire me as a web developer. I really appreciate it!
If you find my site helpful, please help me replace my many broken cameras, fund my website fees (hosting, APIs, security), or just support my countless hours of work. I pay for all expenses myself, and all trip reports I post are unpaid and unsponsored, so any support is really appreciated!
