May 24, 2017 — Lower Pine Creek Falls is an gorgeous little waterfall that isn't advertised by the National Park Service. Despite it's proximity to the very popular road that runs through Zion, it feels like it's far away from civilization. The hike seems to have become more popular in recent years, but it's a short hike so that's to be expected with the massive influx of Zion visitors. From the lowest switchback, I headed east along a sandy social trail on the north side of Pine Creek. It's a flat hike and I got to the falls faster than I thought. You can continue past the falls and evenually get to the final rappel at the mouth of the technical section of Pine Creek Canyon.
