Mar 21, 2017 — Despite the aggresive name, this mild hike through fairly open Superstition Wilderness leads to a waterfall on a well-groomed trail. The pleasant walk takes you through the Superstition foothills, near cool rock outcroppings, and at the right time of year, there are gorgeous wildflowers. Unfortunately on my visit there was only a trickle coming down from Massacre Falls, but it was a scenic desert walk and the cliff housing Massacre Falls is cool enough even without the water. A social trail leads from the viewpoint toward the falls, down through a rocky wash and to the falls' base.
Please consider helping me out if you find my site useful. I'm not sponsored, so all site fees are out-of-pocket and my time preparing these trip reports is unpaid. You can also hire me as a web developer. I really appreciate it!
If you find my site helpful, please help me replace my many broken cameras, fund my website fees (hosting, APIs, security), or just support my countless hours of work. I pay for all expenses myself, and all trip reports I post are unpaid and unsponsored, so any support is really appreciated!
