Nov 09, 2017 — This Sedona hike takes you up the really gorgeous Sterling Pass Trail, which starts through a wide canyon from the Sterling Pass Trailhead. The trail then leads through gorgeous cliff faces as it switchbacks up a gully and up to Sterling Pass. The trail then descends to the west, and of course you'll have to re-ascend this later on the way back. There were very cool rock formations and the fall colors were stunning. The trail leads just past Vultee Arch, so it might be easy to miss the side-trail leading to the feature. You can see the arch on your way north as you get closer. It seems somewhat manmade and out of place, situated so perfectly within the hills. A social trail leads up to Vultee Arch's east side where you can walk across it.
Please consider helping me out if you find my site useful. I'm not sponsored, so all site fees are out-of-pocket and my time preparing these trip reports is unpaid. You can also hire me as a web developer. I really appreciate it!
If you find my site helpful, please help me replace my many broken cameras, fund my website fees (hosting, APIs, security), or just support my countless hours of work. I pay for all expenses myself, and all trip reports I post are unpaid and unsponsored, so any support is really appreciated!
