Take a shuttle to the Sand Beach and hike back to your car at the Nature Center.
Aug 16, 2013 — A short hike that traverses in a rollercoaster-like fashion through Acadia National Park along one major ridge that allows for outstanding 360 degree views of the low mountains and distant ocean almost the whole time. At one point, you summit Champlain Mountain, which is the "end" of the Precipice Trail, a more popular hike. Pass a relaxing pond along the way, and enjoy the Beehive, which offers a watered-down version of the Precipice Trial's famous ladders and rungs. This hike is great because you can start in one spot and end somewhere else where a shuttle can pick you up, likely the biggest plus of Bar Harbor, a tourist haven of a town, being so nearby.
Please consider helping me out if you find my site useful. I'm not sponsored, so all site fees are out-of-pocket and my time preparing these trip reports is unpaid. You can also hire me as a web developer. I really appreciate it!
If you find my site helpful, please help me replace my many broken cameras, fund my website fees (hosting, APIs, security), or just support my countless hours of work. I pay for all expenses myself, and all trip reports I post are unpaid and unsponsored, so any support is really appreciated!
If using PayPal, please select their option for "Sending to a friend" so they don't take out fees, thank you.
My site is free to use, but consider sending me a few bucks to help keep it running. Thanks in advance!
