May 06, 2014 — The Boquillas Canyon Trail is a beautiful and mostly flat hike to a gorgeous viewpoint within Big Bend National Park, Texas. The trailhead is located at the eastern end of the park, near the Rio Grande Village, just off the main park road. This short hike leads to Boquillas Canyon, offering great views of the Rio Grande and the towering limestone cliffs that form the canyon walls. The trail takes you down to the Rio Grande River’s edge, where I saw the international border with Mexico, and I spotted a caballero on the opposite side.
