May 19, 2015 — A lesser-known gem called Cathedral Gorge State Park hides deep in middle-of-nowhere Nevada. The slot canyons and cathedral-like formations of this small gorge formed by erosion of a drying lake provides a nice detour if you're in the area. This hike wanders around the more popular features of the state park, checking out the Cathedral Caves area via a series of social trails that wrap around the cool formations. I just included the start park map attached in case you need it, because really it's a small park and shouldn't take too long to check out many of the highlights.
Please consider helping me out if you find my site useful. I'm not sponsored, so all site fees are out-of-pocket and my time preparing these trip reports is unpaid. You can also hire me as a web developer. I really appreciate it!
If you find my site helpful, please help me replace my many broken cameras, fund my website fees (hosting, APIs, security), or just support my countless hours of work. I pay for all expenses myself, and all trip reports I post are unpaid and unsponsored, so any support is really appreciated!
