May 28, 2017 — This official trail leads along a beautiful rim that overlooks the gorgeous Cathedral Valley monoliths, though not the more famous ones you may be used to seeing. The road to get out here is absurdly long, but pretty much anything better than a sedan should be able to handle it. Along the way driving to the trailhead, you pass Temple of the Sun and Temple of the Moon, the iconic features that represent Cathedral Valley. We got out and took some photos of these icons and did a mini-hike around the Lower Cathedral Valley to check out the iconic Temple of the Sun and Temple of the Moon, located at 38.4510006,-111.1907536.
The trail leads northwest along the top of a rim, where very cool eroded monoliths poke out just to the north. After a short walk, the hike ascends to a bump along the ridge with a a final, nice view.
