Oct 30, 2012 — I lucked out with lots of fog that really added to the fantasy-like appeal of the Redwoods. I sort of ran out of time and could only do a two hour hike to the oceanfront, and I am so glad it worked out that way, because this trail led right to the ocean. The redwoods are massive, which is obvious, but actually being within them gave me a sense of comfort I've never felt before. Hearing the ocean as I approached the trail's end was so soothing, and when I got out from the redwood tree cover and to the grassy knoll overlooking the water, I felt an overwhelming sense of happiness and thoughtfulness. The aura of this place was amazing.
