Dec 18, 2020 — Dante's View is a gorgeous overlook into Death Valley, and the views continue to stay incredible along the entire ridgeline from the trailhead to Mount Perry. This hike is very straightforward and quite popular. A trail starts to the north, heading up and over Dante's View Peak before progressively dropping down 700+ feet that will need to be ascend on the way back. The trail bascially follows the ridge crest for the entirety, avoiding some unnecessary high points by wrapping around them.
The last few hundred feet to the summit requires some minor Class 2 scrambling along the crest. While hints of the trail exist, it's a more narrow section and quite rocky and no official trail construction has been done to make this a true "trail". The summit views from Mount Perry are obviously great.
Please consider helping me out if you find my site useful. I'm not sponsored, so all site fees are out-of-pocket and my time preparing these trip reports is unpaid. You can also hire me as a web developer. I really appreciate it!
If you find my site helpful, please help me replace my many broken cameras, fund my website fees (hosting, APIs, security), or just support my countless hours of work. I pay for all expenses myself, and all trip reports I post are unpaid and unsponsored, so any support is really appreciated!
