Apparently a mining company has been the cause of a long-term closure of the Fish Canyon Falls Trail. If it reopens, my trail map and trailhead coordinates will likely be inaccurate due to rerouting.
Feb 03, 2016 — After a half mile hiking through a loud and active quarry, Fish Creek's flowing water and relatively lush drainage drowns out the human-made unpleasantness as you hike deeper into the canyon. Though a fairly crowded trail, the hike is nice and is sort of a Los Angeles classic. Along the way there are little falls within the creek that add to the ambiance. Fish Canyon Falls is beautiful and much larger than I expected, and the well-constructed path makes for an enjoyable stroll in SoCal's San Gabriel Mountains.
