Feb 21, 2018 — One of many unique volcanic peaks in the Cornudas Mountains, Flat Top Mountain is special because it offers a really great meadow-filled view of the taller peaks. It's also mostly just a pleasant walk to a relatively central position overlooking the other Cornudas peaks. I made this into a little loop unnecessarily, going up the north-prong of the east ridge, and then back down the south-prong of the east ridge. Really nice little remote hike to an obscure peak, with a short section of Class 2 to gain the rim on the way up and a bit of boulder-hopping along the slope as I made my way down.
