Apr 07, 2016 — Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument is a small plot of protected land in the heart of The Gila, where ancient dwellings are preserved amongst the cliffs, remnants of the Mogollon culture. I decided to hike the short Cliff Dwellings Loop, which visits the ruins via a pretty canyon called Cliff Dweller Canyon. A ladder and stairs provide access to some rooms, while others are accessible on the ground-level. The hike is short and sweet, but the scenery is nice and it's always fun to break up adventuring with some human history.
