May 15, 2019 — After a week of catching up on work, I was getting cabin fever and needed to hike something that was short enough that I'd survive the 90-something degree desert heat, and this short and mostly unremarkable traverse fit the bill. It included Easter Island Peak, Leaning Arch Peak, and Golf View Peak, the highest of the three. Starting from the Railroad Pass Casino parking lot, I hiked up a dirt road that might be temporary for construction, crossed a gully at the southwestern slope of Easter Island Peak, and headed up loose Class 2 scree to its summit. The ridge continued northeast, passing over Leaning Arch Peak, and then to Golf View Peak. The highlight of the route was probably the last few hundred feet. The views were fine. I went back the way I came, happy to have gotten some fresh air. Back to adventuring!
Also, this isn't technically in Lake Mead National Recreation area, but its just outside the border and I don't know the land ownership.
