Jun 10, 2017 — Mount Diablo can be reached via car, but Justin and I wanted to hike from the Mitchell Canyon Interpretive Center in order to see a majority of Mount Diablo State Park. The route we chose would also summit Eagle Peak along the way. We headed up the Mitchell Rock Trail and then continued along the Eagle Peak Trail. This section following along Bald Ridge from Eagle Peak has some nice views and I really enjoyed this part the most. The trail is easy to follow and well-marked. The Bald Ridge Trail meets with the North Peak Trail intersection, which we followed to the Summit Trail leading to Mount Diablo's overdeveloped summit. If you get to the summit early enough, apparently they sell ice cream.
