Sep 11, 2014 — It seems very few people come to this side of Mount Desert Island, I assume because Bar Harbor (the local tourist town) is fairly far from here. The quality of hiking here rivals the east side of Acadia National Park, Maine. There is some really interesting trail construction resulting in narrow trails that wind to the summits of the low mountains in the area. This hike traverses three of the small mountains (hills, really), Robinson, Flying, and St. Sauveur Mountains, and offers great views of the ocean, as well as some waterfront hiking. The trees and mosses seem to vary greatly, and there is plenty of opportunity to extend or shorten this hike.
Please consider helping me out if you find my site useful. I'm not sponsored, so all site fees are out-of-pocket and my time preparing these trip reports is unpaid. You can also hire me as a web developer. I really appreciate it!
If you find my site helpful, please help me replace my many broken cameras, fund my website fees (hosting, APIs, security), or just support my countless hours of work. I pay for all expenses myself, and all trip reports I post are unpaid and unsponsored, so any support is really appreciated!
