May 29, 2018 — This popular hike starts up Rock Canyon, which passes lots of cool rock outcrops and parallels the creek as it heads through the forest on an old roadbed/wide trail for the first half of the hike. At a junction, head north (left) out of Rock Canyon and ascend through more lush forest into the higher grassy terrain above. As the trail wraps around to the north side of Squaw Peak, the views become really delightful. The landscape is mostly meadows and the taller surrounding peaks like Provo Peak and Cascade Mountain came into view, especially after reaching the summit of Squaw Peak (aka Squaw Mountain).
Please consider helping me out if you find my site useful. I'm not sponsored, so all site fees are out-of-pocket and my time preparing these trip reports is unpaid. You can also hire me as a web developer. I really appreciate it!
If you find my site helpful, please help me replace my many broken cameras, fund my website fees (hosting, APIs, security), or just support my countless hours of work. I pay for all expenses myself, and all trip reports I post are unpaid and unsponsored, so any support is really appreciated!
