Oct 22, 2012 — Bruneau Dunes State Park has the tallest single-structured sand dune in North America, surrounded by a sandy and flat landscape. At the base of the dune is a picturesque lake and marsh, and hiking to the top of the 470 foot dune is a blast. These dunes are unique because they were formed near the center of the basin and do not shift much due to stable winds from both directions keeping them in check. Definitely a unique excursion to take a break from otherwise flat eastern Idaho.
Please consider helping me out if you find my site useful. I'm not sponsored, so all site fees are out-of-pocket and my time preparing these trip reports is unpaid. You can also hire me as a web developer. I really appreciate it!
If you find my site helpful, please help me replace my many broken cameras, fund my website fees (hosting, APIs, security), or just support my countless hours of work. I pay for all expenses myself, and all trip reports I post are unpaid and unsponsored, so any support is really appreciated!
