Jan 23, 2017 — This short loop shows off some of the spectacular desert scenery in Valley of Fire. The trail leads between the two White Domes as it heads south, then passes the remnants of an old movie set. It then curves west and enters a short slot canyon. On our visit the canyon held a bit of water. The walls are pocketed and colorful. Once we emerged on the other side of the slot we followed the trail north through more pretty scenery. The last bit of the hike follows a paved sidewalk to get back to the trailhead. It's easy to follow and well-marked.
I recommend also heading to the top of the White Domes for some even better views if you're comfortable scrambling.
