Jun 18, 2019 — A well-graded dirt road took us past an old corral, a less-good dirt road leading on the left side of an old corral to the mouth of Wildcat Tank Canyon. We dropped into the canyon and hiked up the pretty slickrock to the head of the canyon. Some really nice hoodoos were a quick diversion before we did the first rappel into the canyon. Wildcat Tank Canyon is a fun and physical short trip, with lots of stemming pretty much the entire descent. A final rappel sketched us out (the anchor was filthy and looked like it was using some sort of pinch point). With the option to bail just to the right, we took that Class 3 slope instead of doing the rappel. I went around to get a shot of the bottom of the rappel, a pretty alcove with some trees growing.
