May 06, 2017 — Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park is a surprisingly pretty forest despite its proximity to the metro area of Memphis. There are a bunch of nicely-manicured trails that weave around the lumpy landscape around creek banks and hills. The hike we decided to take to check out the park follows the red-blazed Woodland Loop. The pleasant hike parallels creeks and is complete with wooden bridges and staircases. Toward the halfway point, the hike follows a paved road for a short time before getting back into the forest. The hike is also known as the "Meeman-Shelby Three Mile Loop".
Please consider helping me out if you find my site useful. I'm not sponsored, so all site fees are out-of-pocket and my time preparing these trip reports is unpaid. You can also hire me as a web developer. I really appreciate it!
If you find my site helpful, please help me replace my many broken cameras, fund my website fees (hosting, APIs, security), or just support my countless hours of work. I pay for all expenses myself, and all trip reports I post are unpaid and unsponsored, so any support is really appreciated!
