Sep 30, 2014 — The Zoar Valley Multiple Use Area features a beautifully carved gorge. This hike leads down to the confluence of the Cattaraugus Creek Main Branch and Cattaraugus Creek South Branch. After a short descent from the trailhead, the trail continues into Valentine Flats, which is apparently often flooded. Being at the confluence with its delightful water sounds, and staring up at the towering gorge walls is a relaxing and disconnecting experience.
I also took a quick hike along the Overlook Trail to get a nice view from above.

If you find my site helpful, please help me replace my many broken cameras, fund my website fees (hosting, APIs, security), or just support my countless hours of work. I pay for all expenses myself, and all trip reports I post are unpaid and unsponsored, so any support is really appreciated!
