Jun 20, 2018 — The Chinnabee Silent Trail cuts west to east, Cheaha Falls being the featured destination. However, I wanted to also visit Devil's Den Falls which was best accessed from the west side near Lake Chinnabee. If you'd prefer to start from the east, those coordinates are here: 33.44419282, -85.84147678, and it's a much shorter hike.
After leaving the trailhead, I followed the Chinnabee Silent Trail east as it parallels a creek. The trail gains some elevation, then loses it as it descends slightly down to the very popular and abused waterfall hangout spot, Devil's Den Falls. I didn't realize quite how disrespectful people could be until I saw this spot, and I hope it gets cleaned up. I didn't linger and continued along the trail as it paralleled the creek and then leads through the woods for a while, passing streams and meandering around hills. I reached the Cheaha Shelter, where the trail then descends to Cheaha Falls. I followed the trail down to the top of Cheaha Falls and enjoyed the lesser-visited falls than Devil's Den Falls, though still quite heavily "loved".
