Apr 11, 2016 — Sitting Bull Falls is a popular tourist attraction, pavement encircling the falls and its gorgeous mosses and colors. After enjoying the colors and formations around Sitting Bull Falls, I decided I wanted to extend the hike a little bit to see the creek that leads to the falls, so I followed the Sitting Bull Falls Trail (Trail 61) south to get above the falls using a well-constructed set of stairs. There were some nice pools above the falls and then the trail led into the creekbed. I continued until I felt like I saw enough of the pretty scenery and made Sitting Bull Spring my turn-around point, though the trail continues for quite some time and actually forms a loop. I had other hikes to do today! I got to the point I had marked as the spring, which feeds the falls, but I'm not sure I actually saw the spring itself since it's obscured by vegetation.
