Nov 18, 2021 — Crossman Peak is a high-prominence desert peak near Lake Havasu City. It's fallen to the wayside over the years for me because it's really just a road walk and there are far more fun objectives nearby, but I was committed to finally going for it. A new friend Craig agreed to meet up after months of us trying to get a hike planned, and he drove four hours to come play in the desert. We met at the end of the pavement here (34.52105, -114.27284) and continued east. Continue northeast here (34.53217, -114.25442) and head up the canyon to reach the trailhead. The road is suitable for Crossover vehicles, but nothing less.
We parked a few hundred feet before a locked gate and followed the steep road as it led to the west ridge of Crossman Peak. Here were radio towers and the end of the road. A social trail continued on the north side of the ridgeline. The ridgeline proper is Class 2, but the social trail is well-defined. The trail leads up to the summit, where the views of Lake Havasu below are nice. We were looking forward to the slightly more adventurous outing we had planned next.
